Faces of the Handicraft Villages

I call these three villages we saw yesterday the handicraft villages because they are very poor and GouF is helping train the women to do handicrafts to earn more money.

Children coming home from school, shocked to see us foreigners walking around there

No that is not a rhinoceros ha. These people loved to show off their beastly pig to me! We stood there and watched it chow down for awhile.

A boy eating sugarcane

A girl with a dead bird...

These are some of the handicrafts that these women are making. They are amazing!!

Some more beautiful handicrafts!

I love this :)

It rained alot that day but it felt so good! This is Iqram and Bilal riding on the cart with us. They work for the organization.

This is someone from the fishing village. He was weaving a basket to catch shrimp in. These people work seasonally making good money in fishing. However the rest of the year is hard because they have to find day-labor jobs that don't well. On average, their income is about $1/day. GouF is also training the women of this village to make handicrafts to sell at markets.
